Which non-alcoholic wines have organic certification?

The certified organic NA wine segment includes French Bloom Blanc de Blancs (AB/EU organic certification on the Chardonnay base), Noughty Organic Sparkling Chardonnay (organic-certified, widely available in Europe), and Torres Natureo Bio (Spain, certified organic Muscat). These products are dealcoholized versions of organically farmed wines — the certification applies to the base wine, not the dealcoholization process itself. Demand for organic NA wine has grown significantly since 2023, with more producers expected to launch certified products through 2026.

Organic certification in wine (EU Regulation 203/2012, updated under 848/2018) covers viticulture (no synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides), winemaking (limited sulphite additions, approved processing aids only), and labelling. When a wine is subsequently dealcoholized, it retains its organic certification on the label if the base wine was certified — the dealcoholization process itself is a physical manipulation not covered by organic regulations. This creates a slight inconsistency: the spinning cone column or vacuum distillation equipment used for dealcoholization can be cleaned with non-organic solvents, but this doesn't affect the label certification.

French Bloom is arguably the most sophisticated organic NA wine currently on the European market. Its Blanc de Blancs uses Chardonnay from Cognac-region certified organic growers and deploys a method closer to sparkling wine production than simple dealcoholization — including secondary fermentation principles adapted for the NA context. The result is a fine bead, a textured mouthfeel, and enough yeast autolysis character to satisfy Champagne enthusiasts. It retails at €22–€28 in Belgium and France. Noughty Organic, produced in Spain from organic Chardonnay, is the more accessible entry point at €12–€16 — widely available at Waitrose (UK), selected Belgian delicatessens, and online NA shops across Europe.

The Torres Natureo Bio range extends to still white (Muscat-based) and still red (Tempranillo-based) organic NA wines — the most complete organic NA still wine range from a single producer currently available. Torres has been at the forefront of NA wine production since launching Natureo in 2009, making it the category pioneer. Their organic sub-line demonstrates the brand's commitment to both sustainability and the NA category's long-term credibility.

Surprising fact: EU organic wine regulations allow up to 100mg/L of total sulphites in organic red wine (vs. 150mg/L conventional) and 150mg/L in organic white wine (vs. 200mg/L conventional). For NA organic wines, which lack alcohol's antioxidant protection, producers face a technical challenge in maintaining quality with lower-sulphite regimes — leading some to use nitrogen-flushing and cold-chain logistics as sulphite substitutes.
